About the Role & Responsibilities:
This role is critical in ensuring our operations meet environmental and regulatory obligations across exploration, drilling, and production. You’ll be part of a high-performing team driving compliance, innovation, and continuous improvement in environmental management.
- Develop and manage Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) in accordance with NTG Petroleum Regulations.
- Lead implementation and maintenance of Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
- Conduct environmental audits, performance reviews, and regulatory reporting.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external specialists (e.g., ecologists, heritage experts).
- Engage with NT government departments to support regulatory outcomes.
- Provide environmental input into contracts and manage consultant services within budget.
- Support rehabilitation and emergency management planning.
- Work closely with operational and technical staff across all sites.
- Liaise with NT government agencies, landholders, contractors, and industry bodies.
To be successful for this role, you will need the following:
- Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Environmental Science or Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in environmental roles, preferably in petroleum or mining.
- Strong working knowledge of NT and federal environmental legislation
- Proven ability to interpret legislation and deliver compliance outcomes.
- Advanced report writing and Microsoft Office skills.
- GIS and hydrogeology experience desirable.
