CoreStaff Darwin have a Permanent Full Time Opportunity in the Mining Sector for a skilled Professional for the role of a Approvals Manager, based in Darwin Northern Territory.

We have a permanent opportunity for a Full Time Approvals Manager to join our clients project team.
  
About the Role & Responsibilities:
  
The Approvals Manager will lead all environmental, regulatory, and land tenure approval processes to support the timely development of the Project. This role is critical in securing and maintaining statutory approvals, ensuring compliance with NT and Commonwealth legislation and liaising with government and communities on matters related to approvals.
  
Regularly report to and provide strategic advice to the board of directors and executive leadership of the project on approval risks, timing, and mitigation strategies.
  
  • Based in Darwin, Northern Territory
  • Manage the full lifecycle of approvals for the project collectively including
  • Maintain and update approvals registers, compliance matrices, and reporting obligations in alignment with project milestones.
  • Liaise closely with NT and Commonwealth agencies
  • Identify, recommend, engage, manage and coordinate the activities of third-party consultants needed to successfully obtain the Project Approvals in a timely and cost effective manner. And as required, ensure compliance with the same.
  • Monitor legislative changes impacting project approvals and provide internal briefing notes and risk assessments.
  • Support engagement with traditional owners, custodians, landholders, and the local community to ensure transparent and respectful communication throughout the process.
  
To be successful for this role, you will need the following:
   
  • Degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering, Law, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in mining or major project approvals, preferably in the Northern Territory or Northern Australia.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant NT and Commonwealth legislation
  • Demonstrated experience preparing approval documents and managing Mining License applications and renewals.
  • Proven ability to direct consultant teams and manage external approval schedules to meet internal project deadlines in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Strong communication and negotiation
  • Must be based in Darwin or willing to relocate
  
Desirable:
  • Prior experience working on a gold project or metalliferous mining approvals.
  • Familiarity with the Central/Northern NT development context.
  • Existing networks within NT Government agencies or Aboriginal Land Councils.
  • Understanding of GIS, spatial data management, or compliance software.
