CoreStaff are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Team Leader to join a large manufacturing business based in Adelaide.
This is a hands on leadership opportunity suited to someone who has strong production experience, confidence operating machinery, and the ability to step up and support a Team Leader when required. You will be working within a busy manufacturing environment where safety, quality, reliability and team performance are critical.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Team Leader, you will assist with the day-to-day coordination of production operations while remaining hands-on across machinery, quality checks and team support.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Supporting the Team Leader with daily production requirements, labour allocation and shift coordination
• Acting as relief Team Leader when required
• Operating production and packaging machinery across different areas of the site
• Monitoring output, product quality, cleaning standards and operational performance
• Supporting quality checks, reporting non-conforming areas and promoting process improvements
• Providing on-the-job training and support to new and existing team members
• Promoting a safe, positive and accountable team culture
• Reporting operational concerns, performance issues and improvement opportunities to the Team Leader
About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:
• Previous experience in a manufacturing, production or packaging environment
• Strong machine operation experience
• Leadership capability or experience supporting a team on shift
• A strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with different departments
• Reliability, accountability and a hands-on approach
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, overtime and weekend work as required
Weekend work will also be required, including a minimum of 1 in 3 Saturdays.
You must be able to do Night, Day and Afternoon shifts on a weekly rotating basis.
