About the Role:
The Civil Project Engineer is responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of tailings storage facility (TSF) and associated infrastructure projects, ensuring all works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- ASAP Start
- Mine Site Based, Remote NT
- FIFO 15 on, 13 off roster, 12 hour days
- FIFO from Darwin only (interstate flights not included)
- 4 month project with potential for extension
- Clean shaven mine site
- Must be confident in passing a pre employment medical
- Coordinate the execution of tailings storage facility construction and upgrades.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and resource requirements.
- Monitor workforce performance, productivity, safety, and quality throughout project delivery.
- Ensure all works comply with approved designs, technical specifications, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with the Engineer of Record (EOR), engineers, consultants, and site operations.
- Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Prepare scopes of work, technical documentation, tender packages, and contractor evaluations.
- Monitor project costs and forecast expenditure against approved budgets.
- Facilitate site meetings, progress reporting, and stakeholder communications.
- Ensure compliance with applicable mining legislation, environmental approvals, dam safety requirements, and company standards.
- Support change management processes and maintain project documentation.
- Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions where required.
- Promote continuous improvement across project delivery, safety, and operational performance.
- Demonstrate visible leadership in safety and environmental performance.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Glencore's Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC) standards.
- Participate in risk assessments, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and pre-start meetings.
- Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure contractor compliance with site requirements.
- Identify and manage environmental risks associated with tailings construction activities.
To be successful for this role, you will need the following:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil, Mining or related discipline).
- Minimum 5 years' experience delivering mining tailings storage facility (TSF) or tailings dam projects within the resources sector.
- Experience managing bulk earthworks, embankment construction, water management infrastructure, and associated civil works.
- Experience working on brownfield and/or greenfield mining projects.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical and civil construction principles.
- Current driver's licence.
- Ability to work on remote mine sites and FIFO rosters.
Desirable
- Project Management qualifications.
- Familiarity with Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM), ANCOLD Guidelines, and relevant Australian mining regulations.
