Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out general parks and horticultural maintenance including weeding, pruning, planting, mulching, mowing, digging, raking, and spraying (approved treatments) in line with scheduled programs and service standards
- Operate and maintain hand tools and minor plant/equipment such as hedge trimmers, chainsaws, blowers, and related gardening machinery safely and effectively
- Identify, report, and help resolve maintenance issues to support the upkeep and improvement of parks and public open spaces
- Contribute ideas for improved work practices and share horticultural knowledge within the team
- Support general operational duties including completing pre-start checks, fault and incident reports, and participating in toolbox meetings and safety activities
- Assist with asset condition monitoring and assessments where required
- Follow all Work Health and Safety requirements, including safe work practices, correct PPE use, and hazard/incident reporting
- Work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining strong customer service, professionalism, and adherence to policies and procedures
- Support continuous improvement, efficient use of resources, and positive workplace culture
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably required within the scope of the role
- Experience in a horticulture, parks maintenance, landscaping, or similar outdoor maintenance role
- Practical knowledge of plant care, turf maintenance, garden establishment, and pruning techniques
- Ability to safely operate and maintain horticultural tools and equipment (e.g., hedge trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, brush cutters)
- Valid WA 'C' Class Driver's Licence
- National Police Clearance (Obtained within the last 3 months)
- Basic Worksite Traffic Management certificate
- First Aid certificate
