At CoreStaff, we pride ourselves on connecting great people with long-term opportunities. When you secure a permanent role through us, we support you through every step of the process — from your first interview to your first day and beyond. You won't just be placed and forgotten — we're here to ensure you're set up for success and part of a team where you can thrive.

About Our Client:

Our clients are well-established local government organisations based throughout the metropolitan area of Western Australia. The organisations are recognised for their strong focus on maintaining high-quality public spaces, environmental stewardship, and well-managed parks and open spaces that enhance community lifestyle and wellbeing.

The regions feature extensive parklands, river foreshores or natural reserves, and a mix of residential and commercial precincts. With a strong emphasis on amenity, safety, and sustainability, the organisation plays a key role in ensuring public spaces are well-presented, functional, and accessible for both residents and visitors.

About the Role:

As a Parks Maintainer, you will play a hands-on role in maintaining, protecting, and enhancing their parks and public open spaces. Working as part of a team, you will deliver high-quality horticultural services in line with environmental management plans and scheduled works.

This is a practical, outdoor role suited to someone who takes pride in presentation, enjoys physical work, and has a strong eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out general parks and horticultural maintenance including weeding, pruning, planting, mulching, mowing, digging, raking, and spraying (approved treatments) in line with scheduled programs and service standards
  • Operate and maintain hand tools and minor plant/equipment such as hedge trimmers, chainsaws, blowers, and related gardening machinery safely and effectively
  • Identify, report, and help resolve maintenance issues to support the upkeep and improvement of parks and public open spaces
  • Contribute ideas for improved work practices and share horticultural knowledge within the team
  • Support general operational duties including completing pre-start checks, fault and incident reports, and participating in toolbox meetings and safety activities
  • Assist with asset condition monitoring and assessments where required
  • Follow all Work Health and Safety requirements, including safe work practices, correct PPE use, and hazard/incident reporting
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining strong customer service, professionalism, and adherence to policies and procedures
  • Support continuous improvement, efficient use of resources, and positive workplace culture
  • Undertake additional duties as reasonably required within the scope of the role
Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • Experience in a horticulture, parks maintenance, landscaping, or similar outdoor maintenance role
  • Practical knowledge of plant care, turf maintenance, garden establishment, and pruning techniques
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain horticultural tools and equipment (e.g., hedge trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, brush cutters)
  • Valid WA 'C' Class Driver's Licence
  • National Police Clearance (Obtained within the last 3 months)
  • Basic Worksite Traffic Management certificate
  • First Aid certificate
What's in it for you?
  • Competitive remuneration and conditions
  • Short and long term contract opportunities
  • Supportive and inclusive team culture
