About Our Client:  Our client is responsible for electricity transmission and distribution and provides water and sewerage services to the five main Territory centres in the Northern Territory, being Darwin, Katherine, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and Nhulunbuy.
  
Our client requires a full time Procurement Business Partner for approximately a six-month contract. This role focusses on coordinating and advising on all aspects of the procurement process to ensure the achievement of compliant and commercial procurement outcomes.
  
About the Role: 
  • Providing expert advice to contribute to decision making and strategic direction in procurement in accordance with the clients Procurement Framework and Procurement Rules.
  • Assist with the preparation of quality market approach documentation for all complex procurement activities including industry engagement, facilitating legal review and complaint management.
  • Work collaboratively towards business objectives, and provide advice and contribution to decision-making, identifying emerging issues/risk.
  • Provide leadership and relationship management to ensure team members work collaboratively and contribute to achieving the accreditation standards and business outcomes on time and to client/ stakeholder expectations.
  • Support Business Unit's through the supplier selection process, including commercial negotiations.
  • Establish and maintain records and systems and provide quality performance reports as required.
  • Develop and implement plans and strategies to meet business needs, enhance stakeholder engagement, and challenge and motivate providers to optimise service outcomes.
  • Apply the procurement governance and risk management framework to ensure compliance, manage risk and improve procurement activity and performance.
  
  
To be successful for this role, you will need the following:
  • Qualification from the charted Institute of Procurement and supply (CIPS) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated high level of commercial awareness and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of project management and process mapping/improvement techniques.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills conducive to maintaining open and effective relationships with stakeholders, industry and clients.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and responding to strategic improvement opportunities, in particular in relation to purchasing and procurement activities.
  • Proven experience in the delivery of construction goods, professional and technical services, corporate and administrative services, and an awareness of the procurement lifecycle.
  • Must be Darwin based
