CoreStaff Darwin are seeking a Sales Safety & Training Support Officer! 

About Our Client:

  
Our client is a leading Australian steel reinforcement supplier, with some 500+ skilled employees located in branches across Australia and supplying some of Australia’s largest building and construction companies.
  
We are looking for a Sales, Safety & Training Support person to join the Darwin branch.
  
This is a fixed-term 6-month position, available for an immediate start, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm. The role is office-based in Winnellie, NT.
  
This is a varied role where you’ll work across safety, training, customer service, sales and general branch operations. You’ll need to be organised, practical and comfortable working with different people across the business.
  
About the Role & Responsibilities:
  
WHS & Safety
  • Manage hazard reporting and follow-up actions.
  • Conduct regular workplace and site safety inspections.
  • Support incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Maintain branch safety and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate contractor compliance, including JSAs, documentation and site inductions.
  • Promote a positive safety culture across the branch.
  
Training & Onboarding
  • Coordinate inductions for new employees and contractors.
  • Maintain and update the branch training matrix.
  • Organise external training and refresher requirements.
  • Monitor training completion and ensure records are kept up to date.
  • Support and mentor employees throughout their training and onboarding.
  
Internal Sales & Customer Service
  • Monitor and respond to the sales inbox.
  • Follow up quotes, estimates and customer enquiries.
  • Assist walk-in customers and provide a professional customer experience.
  • Process sales orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide general sales and administrative support to the branch team.
  
Planning & Dispatch
  • Support production and scheduling priorities.
  • Coordinate deliveries with customers and site contacts.
  • Prepare and print tags and relevant documentation.
  • Assist with resolving site, delivery and operational issues.
  • Work closely with the branch team to keep day-to-day operations running efficiently.
  
Administration & Compliance
  • Provide general branch administration and organisational support.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Assist with specific compliance requirements.
  • Support the branch with other operational and compliance tasks as required.
  
About You:
  
  • Strong computer and IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • A good understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment and risk controls.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to prioritise competing tasks and work to deadlines.
  • A practical, proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Confidence dealing with employees, contractors, customers and other stakeholders.
  • The ability to work independently while also being a collaborative member of the branch team.
  • A genuine commitment to workplace health, safety and compliance.
  • A Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety would be highly desirable, along with experience in a safety, training, administration, sales or operational environment.
