We are looking for motivated candidates to join our team for positions based in Wacol area. These roles are available for an immediate start.

Position Overview  

The Sawyer is responsible for the safe and accurate operation of the  Vekta Razor Saw  to cut structural timber components to specified dimensions for frame and truss production. The role is critical to production flow, quality, and workplace safety. 

Key Responsibilities  
  • Operate the  Vekta Razor Saw in accordance with site Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) 
  • Accurately cut timber to production schedules, cut lists, and specifications
  • Feed and unload timber safely using correct manual handling techniques
  • Conduct pre‑start checks and basic operational inspections of the saw
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace around the saw and infeed/outfeed areas
  • Identify timber defects and escalate quality concerns to the Supervisor
  • Work closely with Assemblers and Production staff to meet daily targets
  • Adhere to all  safety, quality, and reporting requirements
  • Report hazards, near misses, and incidents immediately
Skills & Experience  
  • Previous experience operating a  Razor / Vekta / automated timber saw (essential) 
  • Experience in Frame & Truss, timber manufacturing, or similar production environments
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to follow detailed procedures
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to work at pace in a production environment
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
Licences & Requirements  
  • Construction White Card (required)
  • Ability to pass pre‑employment medical (if required)
  • Forklift licence – desirable but not essential
  • Willingness to work day shift hours
Hours of Work

Monday to Thursday - 6.00am - 2.30pm
Friday 6.00am - 12.00pm
Pay Rate - $32.31 per hour plus penalties
